Most of the Omegasonics ultrasonic power supplies have recently achieved a very important milestone! They have been granted their CSA certifications. Why is this a big deal, and what does it mean to you, the consumer? Let’s take a look!
What are Certification Marks?
Odds are you have seen them on the backs of some, if not most, of the products you have bought. They are typically found around the same placard that has the serial number and other product identification. Some of the marks you may have seen are UL, FCC or CE, as well as the CSA mark. All of these marks mean that the product has been tested by one (or more) of these labs and passed a certain level of standards. These standards ensure that the product that the customer is buying adheres to a certain level of quality and safety.
What Is CSA Certification?
The CSA, or Canadian Standards Association, as a group tests a wide variety of products. These include electrical, gas, plumbing and mechanical products. That isn’t an exclusive list, but it covers the basics.
When a product is certified, it means that it has been tested by the organization and meets a specific set of requirements for that standard. These standards ensure that the product that the consumer is buying has increased assurance of quality and safety. Certification means that Omegasonics products can bear the CSA stamp of approval, a mark that is found on a wide variety of products to ensure their quality.
CSA C/US
Along with the CSA mark comes a C stamp and a US stamp. This means that Omegasonics ultrasonic generators pass both the Canadian requirements as well as the United States requirements.
According to OSHA, the US agency that oversees health and safety, a CSA-US stamp is the equivalent to a UL marking as well due to the CSA’s familiarity with the US safety code.
The UL mark is put on by Underwriters Laboratories, a US agency responsible for testing device safety. Devices that earn the UL mark meet the safety standards put forth by UL. A complete list of what that entails can be found on the UL site here.
What Does It Mean?
The bottom line to the certification is that you can trust that Omegasonics products are of the highest quality and safety standards.
While our customers have known this for a long time, the certification puts a stamp (pun intended) on what they and we have been saying for a long time. Omegasonics ultrasonic cleaners are the best on the market, and you can trust them to get the job done safely and efficiently.
