Rust is a dirty word for metal, as it often means replacement. However, if you manage to catch it early enough, it can be safely removed and treated. In our opinion, there is no better or easier way to treat rust than by using an ultrasonic cleaner to remove it from your tools or equipment.
Rust Is Not the End of It
As we noted in the introduction, when most people see rust, they usually start doing online searches for replacement parts. That, however, is not always necessary. If you catch the rust before it starts to eat away at the equipment, it can be safely removed and the equipment saved.
We often see people try to do this by hand, which can literally be painful and take considerable time. Now, I don’t know about you, but using a wire brush or steel wool pad is not my idea of a fun day. Rather than spending hours painstakingly trying to remove the rust, what if we told you there was a way to fix this issue in less than the time it takes you to make your dinner?
How It Works
If you have never seen an ultrasonic cleaner in action, it really is amazing. The machine uses cavitation to create microscopic bubbles. These bubbles then travel to the equipment in the tank, imploding when they hit a surface. Since the settings dictate how big the bubbles are, it can be set to penetrate every crack and crevice of the part in the tank, meaning that if you are removing rust, it will be removed regardless of where it is located it.
That last line is critical in ensuring the equipment is ready for use again. Many times, when cleaning by hand, the rust in those small cracks and crevices are missed, which leads to the rust coming back again and again and again.
The secret to success for this particular application is in having the machine dialed in on all aspects, from temperature to cleaning solution to settings that are used to create the cavitation. Luckily for our customers, our team of experts works with our customers to ensure the settings are ideal for the particular task they are working on at the time.
