Is there a more effective way to clean grimy machine parts than an ultrasonic cleaner? Well, I think you already know our answer to that question. But, we believe you can answer that question better than us. Just ask yourself a few questions:
- How much time do you spend hand-cleaning parts?
- How often have you had to re-do cleaning?
- How much “down time” do you spend cleaning that you could use doing more work for your business?
- How many staffing hours do you use every week that is solely dedicated to cleaning parts?
- How often does your equipment break down due to parts that are not operating properly because they were not cleaned properly?
- How many times have you damaged equipment parts while cleaning them and had to replace them?
- How much of your equipment is prematurely retired because it was not properly cleaned?
If your face is red in frustration over your answers, you should probably be using an ultrasonic cleaner.
Selecting the Right Ultrasonic Cleaner
The secret to properly cleaning your parts starts right out of the gate by choosing the right machine. The team at Omegasonics will work hand-in-hand with you to select the right machine. If we do not have a machine in stock, we will build one for you to meet your specific cleaning needs.
Furthermore, our team will work with you to ensure you know the proper settings as well as use the appropriate cleaning solutions for your particular cleaning jobs.
Position Parts Properly
We sometimes get complaints from customers that our machines are not working correctly. The parts are coming out of the tank and are not thoroughly cleaned. In most cases, this is because the parts are not positioned properly. People are simply dumping the parts into the basket, then running it through a cycle.
If you want the parts to be cleaned properly, you must manually position them in the basket to ensure they are not on top of each other with maximum surface exposure. While this is a powerful cleaning tool, it only works if used properly. Do not overload the basket and do not stack items on top of each other. Manually place them so they are adequately distanced to allow the cavitation bubbles to work their magic.
Avoiding Surface Damage
You must remember that ultrasonic cleaners create cavitation, meaning these parts vibrate when they are in the baskets. If you have highly finished or delicate parts, work with our team to find the proper inserts for your machine to prevent this from happening. This is also another reason not to overload the basket or stack parts.
Choose the Right Solution
As we alluded to above, every cleaning job is not alike, so you are likely going to need a variety of solutions if you are using your tank to clean different items. Again, our team will recommend the proper cleaning solutions for every job you plan on doing with your ultrasonic cleaner.
Maintain Your Cleaner
In order for the machine to work correctly, it must be maintained. This means regular cleaning and maintenance of the tank. For instance, you should thoroughly clean the tank whenever you change the solution. Your solution should be changed out after several uses (our team can advise you on how often based on the types of solution and cleaning you are doing). You will also want to manually check the machine to ensure it is working properly (click here for our list of testing options).
