If you’ve decided it’s time for your business to take advantage of the awesome power of ultrasonic cleaners, then your first and most important decision will be deciding what type of cleaner you’ll use.
However, if you’ve never purchased an ultrasonic cleaner before, then it’s important that you learn about the different types of cleaners at your disposal.
While there are plenty of options available for you to choose from, you first need to decide which size will best fit your needs. Omegasonic’s ultrasonic cleaners come in three main categories: Table Top, Bench Top and Industrial.
Table Top Ultrasonic Cleaners
The smallest size ultrasonic cleaner is the table top size. If you are looking for something compact and portable, then the table top is the way to go. These cleaners provide easy storage when not in use and can be placed on a bench, table or shelf.
Table top cleaners have a maximum capacity of around eight gallons, and can run on as little as half a gallon of cleaning solution. Table top cleaners are ideal for working with items like surgical instruments, small gears, optical parts and bearings, and they are designed for the most delicate instruments possible.
Bench Top Ultrasonic Cleaners
If you need a little more volume or power when you’re cleaning, then a bench top ultrasonic cleaner might be your perfect solution. Bench top cleaners are slightly larger than table top cleaners and can pack more cleaning power.
Bench top units can hold up to 20 gallons of cleaning solution, making them ideal for high volume cleaning. These cleaners are also able to handle heavy duty cleaning and can be used for disaster recovery cleaning jobs from sites like natural disasters or fires.
Bench top cleaners sacrifice portability for more volume and power. While they can still be relocated if necessary, you will need more space to store these larger units between jobs. The additional volume from the larger tanks make them perfect for automotive, machining, marine and 3D manufacturing. If you have a dedicated work flow, high-volume needs and the extra storage space, a large capacity industrial cleaner may be the cleaning solution you are looking for.
The tanks of these units can contain as much as 1,000 gallons and can handle just about any cleaning job you can imagine. Oversized manufactured parts, large automotive parts, musical instruments and even large marine elements can all easily be handled by large capacity cleaners.
An extra benefit of larger cleaners is that additional stages can be added to them, as well as automation. If you have need for pre-rinsing, post-rinsing, drying or multiple cleaning cycles, these can all be incorporated into a large capacity cleaner. Remember, however, that you need to have a dedicated work floor and often special power hookups for equipment of this size. Make sure to map out the installation location for your large capacity cleaners well in advance of purchasing.
