As a pet owner, I can tell you that automatic pet water bowls are both a godsend and a nightmare. One thing is for sure, one cycle through an ultrasonic cleaner and those bacteria and germs are gone.
Maintaining Bowl Integrity
Now, I do not use plastic bowls for this reason, but in most cases, the motor parts will be plastic. Plastic can start to lose its integrity with constant scrubbing, so the ultrasonic cleaner is a great way to ensure all plastic parts maintain that integrity so your fountain continues to work properly.
Saves Time
This always plays a significant role when justifying the purchase of an ultrasonic cleaner. Now, there is no way to get around the time it takes to dismantle and reassemble the pet fountain, but the time you will save on cleaning it is fairly substantial. I used to spend about half an hour just cleaning the fountain and its parts to ensure they were clean. Now I stick the parts into the ultrasonic cleaner, and I am free to do other chores while the cycle runs. Trust me, you never know how valuable 15 minutes is until you can see what you accomplish during the time when you were usually scrubbing fountain parts.
