If you own a firearm, you are already aware of how tedious and time-consuming cleaning a gun can be. There are times when I enjoy breaking down my gun and taking the time to thoroughly clean each piece. However, there are also times that I simply do not have the time and get aggravated by the process. For those of you that find yourself in that latter position more often than not, there is a solution… an ultrasonic cleaner.
How Do Ultrasonic Cleaners Work
The biggest challenge when cleaning your gun is to get into those small areas where debris can get caught up. Even the most experienced of gun owners will miss a few spots every now and again. This cleaning process is unlike anything you have ever used.
The ultrasonic waves create cavitation, which in turn creates microscopic bubbles that carry the cleaning solution to the item in the tank. When they hit the item, in this case a gun, they implode, spreading the cleaning solution to every surface, nook, and cranny of the item in the tank. Every surface will be immaculately cleaned.
Benefits of Cleaning Guns with Ultrasonic Cleaners
Reduced Cleaning Time – for me, this is THE most important feature. In about 15 minutes, the gun can be disassembled, cleaned, dried, lubed, and put back together again. Best of all, I can actually do something else while the gun is running the tank instead of needed to personally handle the task. It just makes the process so much easier and quicker.
Clean Thoroughly – as we noted above, there is just no comparison to using an ultrasonic cleaner over hand-cleaning a firearm. The only reason I do not have this listed as my top feature is because it is a gimme that as long as you follow the proper cleaning practices, your gun is going to come out far cleaner than if you were to clean it by hand.
Omegasonics has even put together a quick tutorial to show you just how easy it is to clean your gun with one of our tanks…
