Ultrasonic Parts Cleaners Keep Employees Safe

Removing contamination from parts can be an expensive time-consuming process that can put employees at risk.

The most common method for cleaning parts has always been by hand.

However, this method exposes workers to unnecessary risks due to potential cuts and punctures from sharp edges, injury from heavy parts being dropped and exposing employees to harsh or potentially flammable solvents that could cause illness and health issues.

In the video below, Frank Pedeflous discusses how ultrasonic parts cleaners can eliminate these issues and more.

Here are a few of the safety benefits when using ultrasonic parts cleaners:

  • No manual handling of parts – Instead of trying to find every hole or passageway, we can simply submerge the parts in water and walk away until they are clean. This prevents possible injury, and also makes workers more productive.
  • Remove the need for cleaning tools that can puncture the skin – Some cleaning tools contain fine wires which can easily break off and penetrate the skin. The body treats these wires like any other foreign object, and therefore can become infected.
  • Absence of harmful solvents – Ultrasonic parts cleaners don’t generally use dangerous solvents. Solvents are a major health risk to employees, exposing them to cancer-causing vapors that can also damage vital organs.  To avoid these risks, employers will often provide expensive and bulky protective gear.

Ultrasonic parts cleaners typically use non-hazardous detergents to clean parts and require none of these precautions.
